The father handed over the killers to the children in exchange for money to lend them to the opposition. The Crime Investigation Department (CID) said on Monday.
On March 27, the body of a second-year student, Elma Begum, was recovered from a paddy field in Beherchar in Sadar upazila of Narsingdi.
The CID recently arrested five people, including Elma's father Abdul Motaleb, in the investigation of the Elma murder case. Elma's father, Abdul Motaleb, is believed to have been involved in the murder.
At a press conference, Deputy Inspector General of CID Imtiaz Ahmed said, for a long time, Md. There were conflicts between Shahjahan and Bachchu groups. Motaleb is a member of the Bachchu Group, a former union member.
On March 7, other members of the Bachchu group, including Motaleb, held a meeting. After killing someone at the meeting, it was decided to impose his responsibility on the opposition.
At that meeting, Motaleb agreed to kill his daughter-in-law, Elma, for a sum of Rs 100,000.
A few days later, on March 28, some people beat up Elma for eating rice.
Motaleb filed a murder case against some known and unknown persons, excluding the main culprits.
