The Kishoreganj sub-division was born in 7 AD. The first administrator of the department was Mr. Buckles. the then Jawar Hossainpur pargana. Towards the end of the eighteenth century Kishoreganj area was also known as 'Katkhali'. According to the historian's ideas and traditions, the landlord of this district was named Kishoreganj by adding the 'Kishore' of Nandakishore Pramanik and the 'Ganj' of the Hat or Ganj established by him.
